An infant with AZ infantile colic is a normal, growing baby that engages in crying bouts for an extended period of time, usually three hours a day for at least three days a week in a three-week period. There are some suggestions as to why infantile colic occurs. They include excessive gas, food intolerance/allergy, and abnormal peristalsis.
It is during the first two weeks of a newborn’s life that infantile colic can begin. Infantile colic reaches a peak at approximately 6 weeks and eventually stops in the second or third month. About 20-30% of infants are colic babies. Symptoms of infantile colic in Laveen usually emerge at the age when the parents have become stressed and tired from sleep deprivation, and occur at the end of the day. It is no wonder that with colic babies, parents can become frustrated, discouraged, and depressed.
During your initial visit, the chiropractor, Dr Chad Stewart DC, will administer a thorough examination to diagnose the severity of infantile colic in your baby. From the results, the chiropractor will determine a customized treatment plan for your infant.
